CINDY C’S BEAUTY TIPS
Hiking, cardio, squats, keep exercise varied
‘I really like the idea of yoga and jogging but old school techniques work better for me, like those taught by my personal trainer Radu, who I created my videos with. At the moment, I have a new trainer at home three times a week who makes me do push-ups, squats, weights and steps. After giving birth to my children or more recently before my book tour, I tried to calm it down a bit. But now, I turn up the intensity with cardio and HIIT, a high intensity training workout. I also try to go hiking in the hill and biking on weekends.’
Start the day with a smoothie that packs a punch
‘Before I start my day, I always have a home-made smoothie with spinach, almond milk, half a banana, protein powder, raw cacao and fresh mint.’
Keep calm with mediation and the sauna
‘We recently did an introduction to meditation course at home, as a family. I don’t do it regularly, but it was very interesting to learn about the benefits of it on my state of mind, from a neuroscientific point of view. It’s like a new tool that I have at my disposal to relax me whenever I need it. But my favorite relaxation ritual is my infra-red sauna: 30 minutes with a good book and I’m a brand new woman.’
Sun protection at all times
‘I have used my Meaningful Beauty line since I was 30 years old, which is constantly updated and improved by Dr Jean-Louis Sebagh. I am also a fan of Microdermabrasion from Hollywood beautician Cristina Radu every four weeks. If not, for me, sun protection is a must. Because I have skin that is quite sun resistant and tans easily, I grab hold of the first SPF that I see. On the beach, on the other hand, a hat and sunshades are musts.’
Condition hair overnight and while working out
‘I am a fan of double-duty beauty because good things take time and time is of the essence. I also try to include beauty rituals into my workouts. For example, if I know that I am going to wash my hair just after exercising, I apply a heavy treatment to my tips. A greasy ponytail never hurt anyone. Recently, I tested Lush’s Jasmine Hair’oïne. Unfortunately my hair is not as thick as it was. Over working it and coloring has destroyed it over the years. If I take the time to dry it (or better, have it blown out), I make sure that the result stays for longer than a day. I discovered that if I sleep with a high loose bun, my hair stays soft and I have the added bonus of pretty waves in the morning. The secret is not to use hair ties. Instead, I stick with a large clip, that way there is no elastic band.’
